General

What is CherishSender?

CherishSender is a secure service that delivers your important messages when you're no longer able to. You create encrypted messages for your loved ones, clients, or colleagues, and set a check-in schedule. If you miss your check-ins and don't respond to our prompts, we deliver your messages to the intended recipients.

How does the check-in system work?

You set your own check-in schedule—daily, weekly, or monthly. When it's time to check in, we send you a notification. You simply confirm you're okay, and the timer resets. If you miss a check-in, we send additional prompts via email and SMS. Only after multiple missed check-ins with no response do we begin delivering your messages.

What happens when I miss a check-in?

Missing a single check-in doesn't trigger message delivery. We'll send you reminder notifications through multiple channels. You can configure a grace period and number of retries. Only after all retry attempts are exhausted without a response do we consider the switch 'triggered' and begin scheduled message delivery.

Can I schedule messages for specific dates after delivery starts?

Yes. You can schedule messages to be delivered immediately when the switch triggers, or delay them by days, weeks, or even months. This lets you give family time to grieve before dealing with practical matters like bank accounts and passwords.

Security & Privacy

How secure are my messages?

All messages are encrypted on your device using end-to-end encryption before being stored on our servers. We use AES-256 encryption, and your encryption keys never leave your devices. Even if our servers were compromised, attackers would only find encrypted data they cannot read.

Can CherishSender staff read my messages?

No. CherishSender uses zero-knowledge architecture. Your messages are encrypted with keys that only you control. We store only encrypted data and cannot decrypt it. We literally do not have the ability to read your messages.

What are the multi-layer security options?

For sensitive information, you can add additional security layers: custom security questions that recipients must answer, passcodes you share separately, or custom encryption keys. This ensures that even if a message is delivered, only the intended recipient with the right answers/codes can access it.

What happens if CherishSender shuts down?

We've designed our system with business continuity in mind. Your encrypted messages are stored redundantly, and we maintain escrow arrangements to ensure message delivery even in worst-case scenarios. We also provide export tools so you can maintain your own backups.

Using CherishSender

What kind of information should I store?

Common uses include: bank account and financial details for spouses, passwords and digital account access, insurance policy information, business client handoff instructions, location of important documents, final messages to loved ones, and sensitive information that needs to reach specific people.

Can I have different messages for different people?

Absolutely. You can create unlimited messages (on Pro plans) for different recipients, each with its own delivery schedule and security settings. Your spouse might get financial information immediately, while a business partner gets project details a week later.

Can recipients reply or ask questions?

Recipients receive your messages but cannot reply through DeadSender. We recommend including contact information for other family members or advisors in your messages if recipients might have questions.

Can I update my messages?

Yes, you can update your messages at any time while you're actively using the service. We recommend reviewing and updating your messages periodically to ensure the information stays current.
